Here are some of the things to look for on Lake LBJ

Docks

On Lake LBJ, the number one go-to structure is docks, docks and more docks. Did I mention docks? The largemouth bass on this lake love docks, as they can hide really well and forage on bluegill that frequent in them. Some of the best lures to use around the docks are whacky-rigged worms, jigs and flukes. Just skip your preferred bait as far back in them as you can and hold on. A frog will work very good as well and just run it along every edge and under the docks and along the bulkheads and any water lilly you can find. Other baits that work well are traps worked slowly over rock piles and grass.

Brush Piles/Laydowns

Another good structure to look for and fish on this lake are the brushpiles and laydowns. These can usually be found out away from the docks and sometimes right underneath or between them. Some of the best lures to drop in those are Texas-rigged plastics like craw worms, worms or creature baits. You can also work a swimbait, wakebait or spinnerbaits/chatterbaits along the bulkheads or any grass you can find. In the springtime, when the bass are spawnig, always look for bass under and around the docks in the back of flats or coves/canals. Thrpwing a frog or flukes in these areas will catch quite a few bass.

Points and Ledges

As with any lake, always look for these types of structures as bass relate to them well. This is a great place to throw jigs, shaky heads, Carolina rigs or a shallow or medium crankbait to reach those fish. If you can find points and ledges with rocks on them, even better!

Let me know if this information helps you to have a better day on my favorite lake in central Texas.
