Lake Travis
My home lake, and where I take the majority of clients — a great lake to fish for all ages and skill levels. I run trips here year-round, and sometimes night trips in the hotter months when the boat traffic is at its minimum.
Lake Austin
Another great lake close by, so I take a lot of clients here too. It's a quality lake with a real chance at a giant, and you can catch some nice fish at night in the summer when it's quiet and not getting rocked by the wake boats.
Stillhouse Hollow
Another great lake, less than an hour north of Austin up I-35. We catch a lot of quality bass here — and it's one of the rare Central Texas lakes with a shot at a smallmouth.
Lake Buchanan
Probably my favorite lake in the area, and my clients have caught some impressive bass here. Plenty of species too — largemouth, Guadalupe, white bass, striper, hybrid and catfish. I sometimes take clients at night to catch striper off the lights.
Lake LBJ
A great lake on a lot of the tournament trails that come through the area. Probably the best dock-flipping lake around, and a great frog lake — the bass will absolutely destroy a frog here, the most exciting bite you'll ever get.
Fayette County
A power-plant lake that's still running. Sometimes it's like shooting fish in a barrel, and you can fish it just about any way you want. In the hotter months it's a hot-and-heavy schooling lake — a lot of fun on topwater.
Lake Bastrop
A warm-water power-plant lake with a 14-21" slot, so there's a shot at a decent-sized bass. In the warmer months the topwater bite is one of the best around.
Lake Falcon
An awesome South Texas lake — some of the biggest five-bass tournament limits have been turned in here over the years. It needs water right now, but that won't stop me from taking you when you're ready.
Lake O.H. Ivie
By far the best lake around for a shot at an absolute giant Texas bass. Many 13-15 pound bass have come off this lake in the last several years, and some even bigger.
Canyon Lake
Another great lake, about an hour from Austin. It has the most grass I've ever seen on it right now, and it's holding some very nice bass.
Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake)
Lady Bird Lake — Town Lake to the locals — holds some very nice bass right in downtown Austin. Electric motors only, and you can fish it from the bank all around.
Lake Belton
The best lake around Central Texas for smallmouth, with some really nice largemouth too. Landing one in the double digits here is a special treat.
Decker Lake (Walter E. Long)
An excellent lake right in the Austin city limits (currently held low for dam and ramp work).
Lake Amistad
A great West Texas lake and a fine place to catch some big Texas bass, including some pretty big smallmouth.
Choke Canyon
One of the best lakes in Texas and the country. The low water has stopped boat launching for now, but the history here speaks for itself.
