Fayette County is another power-plant lake, and it tends to put out even bigger bass than Bastrop. It has lots of vegetation and timber to hold those big girls, plus old ponds with pond dams and reeds where you can catch some big bass on a frog. There are lots of 3-6 pound fish to be caught with an occasional bigger one, which makes for a really fun lake with both numbers and quality.

What you'll catch on Fayette County
Quality largemouth bass are the draw here - 3-6 pounders are common, with bigger ones mixed in, all well-fed in the vegetation and timber. There are also plenty of other species, including bluegill and catfish that can run a very good size. I release the bass; catfish and panfish are fine for the table.
