Lake Austin Fishing Report - February 22, 2013
On the water February 22, 2013 · Lake Austin · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs
Lake Austin got going a bit today. Hit the lake today with some clients for a half day trip. The bite started out pretty slow but picked up some pretty good speed toward the end. We started out throwing around the grass and picked up a few here and there. Some just in the grass and a few around some beds. We moved around a bit and finally got on a good shallow bite catching a few 2-3 pounders and lost one about 5-6. Moved out a few feet deeper and game on. 6-7 lb fish were hammering our baits. Even had one giant on only to lose it in the grass. After dropping the clients off, went out for another hour or so hitting another area and picked up several more in the 5-6 lb class. All in all, the best 5 topped 30 pounds and could have been more if landed the giant. Here's Jen holding a 7. Good times.
