Fished a club tournament on Lake LBJ - and thought I'd have a good chance at winning with big fish. After running all the way up river and getting to my spot, I came across a very nice fat, healthy bass and got it in the boat. I was pumped. But there was one other competitor that just showed up to the area and they went straight to what was supposed to be my next spot. I noticed he threw up into the right area too and they also landed a pretty good bass, similar in size to mine.
After working the area over, I started working my way back to where weigh-in was to be had and caught several more fish along the way. After all said and done, I came in 2nd and came up just short for big bass with the other guy weighing his in and just topping mine. Oh well. A good effort and 2nd place ain't a bad day.
