Opened the 2006 season on Lake Buchanan with a pair of healthy winter largemouth. I fish another club tournament here and already knew a place where it may turn into a win with the right bites. After showing up first thing, I started working over an area with some underwater vegetation. It was the right place and I caught quite a few largemouth bass using a dark colored rattletrap. It was a new color they just came out with and it was mostly black with a few different colors on it's bottomside. This lure worked great. After the bite there slowed down, I started throwing a craw worm as they love it on this lake. I finished out my limit and at the end of the day, ended up in 3rd place. Not a bad way to start the year. Good times!
