Choke Canyon Fishing Report - July 21, 2007

Hit Choke for a short time on Saturday afternoon, 4:30-8:30. Bite was slow but 1st fish was 6 lbs on a blade working inside grass lines. After connecting with just a few more small ones, I moved on to a point where I found some feeding activity. Threw a mid crank and landed a 5 lber and several in the 2-3lb class. I then moved up into shallower water and worked a spinnerbait once again along some wind-blown vegetation. First cast, I landed one about 3 and the next cast I was slammed by a big girl, who dropped it twice on the way in. I cast once again there and she slammed it again. The battle was on. This was the longest 10 pounder I've ever seen. She was skinny but was around 28 inches long. My measure stick is only 22. Awesome fish and awesome lake. Just my 3 big fish went over 21 pounds. Call me for some sweet fishing! Choke is picking up and will only get better from here on out.
