Decker Lake Fishing Report - April 4, 2019

On the water April 4, 2019 · Decker Lake · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs

Headed out on Lake Decker with some clients this morning. Had a pretty good day throwing 4" senkos inside a grass line around bedding bass. Most of the fish were good solid chunks in the 2-3 pound range, mostly all males. Seems most of the bigger females have finished spawning.

One of the better areas, a few feet deeper, we caught a few more solid fish in the 2.5-4 pound range. Some of those were females that were about halfway spawned out except for 2 that were pretty fat. The biggest fish in the area came off right at the boat. She looked to be around 6 pounds.

All the lakes seem to be about 3-4 weeks behind schedule this year with the coldest water temps I can remember in recent history. We ended up the day with around 20 bass with the 2 biggest ones at 5 pounds. Good times on the water!
