Lake Travis Fishing Report - January 9, 2020

On the water January 9, 2020 · Lake Travis · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs

Hit Lake Travis on a scouting trip today. Bite was a little off in the morning but as the day progressed, so did the bite. Most fish were in 15-25 with a few shallower. The biggest ones were the deeper ones today. I caught them on a number of baits ranging from a jig, texas rigged worm and crankbaits, both deep and shallow.

The biggest ones came from dead-sticking a power worm. I would leave it sit for 15-20 seconds and then it would just take off. Most of the bites came on the bottom of a ledge or the top of the ledge if it was deeper. I also got a lot of bites from a squarebill in shad colors. The biggest one today was just under 6 pounds. Time to book your trip!
