Lake Travis is on fire right now. The bass have pushed into the coves and are running down schools of shad, and it's some of the most fun fishing of the year.
On cloudy or rainy days, the topwater bite is the deal. Walking baits like a Spook, plopper-style baits and poppers are all getting blown up. When the sun is out, you can still get a few to come up top, but soft plastics will catch most of your fish.
When the wind picks up, head for points with plenty of rock, shallow ledges and standing trees. Work those spots with soft plastics, shallow-running crankbaits and small swimbaits and you'll stay busy.
