Lake Travis Fishing Report

On the water · October 22, 2026

We started the morning on Lake Travis working main-lake structure, flipping soft plastics into flooded trees in 5 to 10 feet of water. That put a few bass in the boat, but it felt like a better bite was waiting somewhere else.

So we ran way back into a cove, and that's where we found them piled up. Watermelon candy creature baits worked along the walls, right where the bank drops off deep, did the trick. We stayed on that pattern until we'd pushed past 20 bass for the day.

Then we tried a cove full of cuts and fingers, and we stumbled onto one incredible bank where we got bit on just about every cast. The numbers climbed fast, and by the end of the trip we'd caught over 50 bass.

My client came all the way from out of the country to see what Texas bass fishing is all about. After a day like that, I think he's hooked for good. What a great day on Lake Travis!
