Lake Travis Fishing Report

On the water · October 29, 2026

Back on good ole Lake Travis again, because it just keeps producing. We started the day throwing topwaters and boated a few nice bass right away, and once the rain set in, they just kept coming.

The rain turned the topwater bite on

My client loved fishing in the rain, and so did I -- it flipped a switch, and the bass were hammering the topwaters. In between those blowups we threw creature baits and caught several more. The fish tore through a whole bag of them, so we switched to big Z craw worms, and those worked just as well, maybe better. We nearly went through a bag of those too, but I didn't mind one bit. As long as we're catching bass, I'm not changing a thing.

We split the day between my latest favorite cove and a great stretch of rock on the main lake, and finished up with about 40 bass. Lake Travis is on a roll right now.
