Lake Bastrop is fishing nice 1/12/13
Lake Bastrop has really been fishing well lately. Went this past Saturday, January 12 and we caught them pretty good. The morning started off slow with the first keeper finally coming on the steep rocky slope off a pond dam using a jig and another right after on a deep crankbait. We then moved back to another deep rocky ledge and pulled a few more with a jig and carolina rig. After finally giving up on this deep area, we decided to move to a rocky point where it paid off. We caught quite a few on this spot including the big one of the day at 21 inches which is over 5 lbs. Most of our fish in the afternoon were 3-4 lb fish using jigs and a deep crankbait. Good times.
The day before I went out there and caught 25 but the size was not quite as big. Fun times none the less. Spring is filling up. Book now to get your dates!
