Lake Buchanan Fishing Report - December 14, 2008
On the water December 14, 2008 · Lake Buchanan · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs
Hit Lake Buchanan once again for the weekly jackpot tournament with my partner Justin. We started out pretty good using flukes and jigs landing 3 solid bass, 2 weighing around 4 pounds and 1 about 3.5. We continued working the same areas as last week where we caught a few nice ones. After our last fish and not getting any more bites for a while, we headed out to a back of a cove that produced 20-30lb sacks a few years back for me and we landed another solid keeper about 3lbs on a crankbait. That was all there was to catch there though so we just started covering water, hitting points and breaks. We caught a few more throughout the day working rock piles and bluff walls and ended up weighing 17.63lbs. We thought we had 2nd place being that the first place sack was over 21bs and only one other bag in the 17lb range was weighed in but we didn't know it was the weigh-in team that weighed their bag before anyone else got up there. They had 17.64lbs! Unbelievable! When they weighed our fish, they didn't even say anything like it was close. Strange. Still a good day on the water. Buch is good right now. ;-)
