Choke Canyon Fishing Report - October 11, 2008

Went to Choke Canyon in search of some big hawgs this day. Started off on a nice grass line with no boats around. Very strange being that it is normally a very common area. The bite that is normally there though was not. We did manage a few up to 3lbs. It might have been the fact that a small cold front just blew through the night before so the morning bite was very slow. We moved to some points and started cranking and managed of few small ones. We moved to throwing a frog and flukes and started catching some more out of the thick grass from the many pockets within. No big ones to be had so we headed to the other end of the lake and throwing a frog really shallow on a point my client landed a nice 4+ lber but not much more to keep us there. To end the day, we headed back to our starting point and caught a few more up to 4lbs using flukes and finesse worms. We did see a few gators which made for some nice pictures. Fun day on the water. After all, it's Choke. ;-)
