Choke Canyon Fishing Report - May 7, 2009

On the water May 7, 2009 · Choke Canyon · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs

Choke continues to produce well. We didn't land any giants today and the biggest one we saw was a nice one around 7lbs that jumped and spit the hook. We did have 5 around 5lbs though and a bunch in the 2-4lb range. In total we had over 40 fish and best 5 was right around 25lbs. Solid day on the water. We threw a variety of baits including cranks, traps, spinnerbaits, worms and flukes. The grass seems to be dying off in places where it was thick a few weeks ago which is strange because there was new growth there. The lake is still falling as well. Just find the grass and work it over good and you'll catch 'em. Book now and let's go.
