Choke Canyon Fishing Report - September 8, 2007

On the water September 8, 2007 · Choke Canyon · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs

Fished Saturday from 7:30am till 2pm. Fishing was a little tougher than I thought but we had fun catching up to over 4 lb fish. Fishing the BassChamps Big Bass Tournament on Sunday was a little different by numbers though because we caught over 4 dozen 2-3 pounders. As soon as I decided to let my weighted fluke drop off the edge of the grass in 25 foot of water, a giant bass slammed my rod. I fought this fish for a while until it shot into the rock/grass ledge we were fishing and it broke off. I would have loved to see this fish because it was probably the strongest bass I've ever had on. That's why it's called fishing though and not catching. Another awesome day on the water. ;-)
