Lake Falcon Fishing Report - December 25, 2009
On the water December 25, 2009 · Lake Falcon · by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs
Christmas Day 2009 on Lake Falcon was a special day. I was very blessed with a great bite at the end of the day and a big fish at the start. First bite of the day produced an 11-2 and a few bites later had another giant on that snapped the line in the trees. But it wasn't until the end of the day that the majority of big bites happened. I happened along into a spot that I hooked into 5 giants in the double digit size and my cousin hooked into 1 and we caught several more solid fish as well. He shot a video of me landing a 10-4 and I'll post it up soon. Here's a pic of the 11-2 from the morning to chew on though and a few captures from the video.
Awesome day on the water with a possible 60+ pound stringer. No telling how much weight I could have had with all fish landed. Wow! A few days later I went out again alone and hooked another giant on the same spot but it came unbuttoned before reaching the boat. It looked to be much bigger than the fish from the previous trip. Those trees are tough though and Falcon bass are the strongest around. I had 4 fish over 5 and 1 over 7 though for my best 5 on that day so about 28-29lbs. Lake Falcon is definitely something special. ;-)
