Choke Canyon 02-27-2009

Hit Choke Canyon and it was on! Started the day throwing traps and spinnerbaits in a drain with some nice grass in it and caught a lot of fish. Biggest fish my client landed was a nice 5.5lber and he had another on between 7-8lbs but came unbuttoned just outside of the net. After the first few hours at this first spot, we started making runs to all the way up river to all the way back down to the dam. We only caught about 8-10 more fish so decided to head back to the start spot to finish the day. It was a great decision since the fish were right back biting. We caught several more probably another 2 dozen from 3-5lbs. The surface water temp was up there in the 70's the whole length of the lake. Certainly there were spawners out somewhere but we couldn't find them. All in all, we landed over 50 bass with best 5 going around 23lbs. Working lure selection was traps, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, senkos and flukes. Great day on the water!
