Fayette County is on Fire 12/04/2012
It was a fun day on Fayette today. Showed up at the ramp a little after 11am to find a small rain/lightening storm just blowing in. So I waited for all that to stop and then launched. I started fishing a point and right off the bat, for several casts in a row, I hooked up with good chunky bass. There were bass loaded up on that spot. I worked traps and crankbaits and then went to a 7" worm. My biggest was a nice healthy 7+ pounder at 23 inches. She went all around my boat stripping drag and went around the motor. After trimming up the motor and dragging her underneath, I was able to land her. She was a beauty. I then took off from there and hit several more areas using the same baits I started with and also mixed in a shaky head around the rocks. All in all, I landed over 50 bass from 2 lbs up to the 7 lb bass I caught first thing. I had another good one at over 21 inches, 5.5 lbs and plenty in the 3-5 lb range. The best 5 would have topped 25 lbs. Fun day on the lake.
