Lake Falcon Fishing Report - December 22, 2007

With the kids now getting all the toys, my client and I got a few other gifts. ;-) Hit Sugar Lake and Falcon Lake over Christmas time and came up with a few nice ones. Started out on Sugar Lake but wasn't greeted with too many fish and we were hit hard with the wind pushing up to 6 foot rollers across the lake. We were lucky enough though to find one of the larger fish of the day at 9 pounds. I used a Mr. Blitz Craw Clicker jig with a Yum Big Show worm to entice her for a bite. I believe she was bedding in the 65 degree water up in 4 foot on a tree. The only other big bite I had was on a spinnerbait off a wind blown point. She slammed me really hard but broke off quickly around a tree. She felt much larger. The fishing was tough with a front coming through earlier that morning and the bass being Floridas. The fish wanted the big show worm, spinnerbaits, frogs and crankbaits.

The bite on Falcon was a little better. We started off fast with several in the 2-3lb range and a nice 5. The bite slowed up quick though and we had to work hard. About 2 hours later my client hooked up with a nice 6. At the end of the day the bite was on good landing around 8 off a point on main lake. All in all, we had around 20lbs best 5 landing around 18. We caught most on crankbaits with some on finesse worms and senkos.
