Lake Travis Fishing Report - August 14, 2021

Hit up Lake Travis today and the fishing was fun. Usually the schooling bass are very active, but in the last few weeks they have slowed way down. It's best to run to those same areas and work them over with soft plastics to catch those bass hanging around, foraging on bluegill and sunfish along the ledges.

When the schoolies pop up, be sure to have a pole ready with a small swimbait to chunk at them. After working these areas for the first hour or 2 of the morning, move to deep ledges on main lake to get your bites. There have been some bigger fish in the 25-50 foot range but if you are short on patience, try working the 12-20 foot range with a jig, shaky head or texas rigged worm such as a trick worm or straight worm in watermelon or green pumpkin colors.

A small craw worm in watermelon red works wonders in these areas as well. Even a dropshot will work good. We ended the day with a couple dozen with a few nice chunks mixed in and a lot of guadalupe bass. Book your trip today for now or for the upcoming fall, winter or next spring. Texas Hawgs!
